Our Purpose
MVYATA is Here to Help
Mon Valley Youth & Teen Association, Inc. serves children of all ages, single parents, and working families to veterans, low-income households, and retirees, through programs and activities that provide and promote education, self-esteem, responsibility to self and others, and seek to improve those conditions in our society, which affect the youth of today/future.
Our Services
Afterschool Programs
Our afterschool programs are great for children and teens and also helpful for parents and guardians who work, attend college, don’t have reliable childcare, or need personal time to decompress.
Food Programs
Our feeding programs such as Food Bank, Emergency Food Distribution, and Summer Feeding help reassure children and families that their community won’t let them know the pain of hunger.
Making a Positive Impact
In 2023, on average, we serve:
- 316 individuals each month for Food Bank
- Between Kid's Connection, 5-2-8, and Teens Groups, we have 111 regular weekly attendees.
- Day Camp had 53 campers, and Camp Watakamini had 107
With the support of people like you, we can continue serving our community with compassion and care as we have for many years.
The 5-2-8 program has helped me build great friendships, allowing us to open up and be comfortable talking to people.
